Obama’s views on energy is unique. Unlike McCain, he mentions nothing about nuclear energy, when talking about energy and the environment. He hopes by 2014, to have cars run on biofuel. He wants to free the United States dependence on foreign oil. Obama wants to provide health coverage to auto-makers, in order to have them produce more hybrid cars. During his presidency, he hopes to put 150 billion dollars in the next ten years to develop and research renewable sources of energy. Obama understands that that to change the climate, major green-house gases emitting countries must reduce their emittion rate. However, he does not mention the Kyoto Protocol in his website.

If a person “goes green” that means that they will be more environmentally conscious. They will do things that help the earth become a better place to live in. John McCain plans on introducing a plan that would charge companies for the amount of greenhouse gases they emit. By doing this he plans on forcing companies into finding cheaper ways to fuel their machines. He has also developed a table to reduce the amount of greenhouse emissions. By 2050 the amount of greenhouse emissions should be 60 percent below the 1990 levels.
